diamond engagement ringWhen my roommate told me he got off the phone with his dad who just got down on one knee and whipped out a diamond engagement ring in front of his girlfriend I didn’t know what to say other then congratulations. His dad has been a bachelor for sometime now but as I understand it he turned a long time friend into a lover and the rest is nothing but wedding bells. The diamond engagement ring sprung a series of events that is going to lead my roommate to making a heartfelt toast in front of 100 people. This is making him very nervous. In college, he dropped out of a public speaking course in the first week.

Now he has to face it head on. It is crazy to think how one little diamond engagement ring would be setting off something my roommate never saw coming. I told him to take a few sips from a strong drink first and then keep the speech short and simple. I’m helping put some stuff down on paper and it seems like he is coming to terms with the idea.
